Included in this collection is the Apple Bourbon Novelty candle, with dried orange and cinnamon stick. This candle is available year-round, but featured here as a small nod to the Irish Whiskey and a digital cheer/ Slainte, from NoveltyOils to you! 🍻
Fun Facts:
Story Time 📖
Maewyn Succat, a British man kidnapped by a group of pirates, was brought to Ireland as a slave around the age of 16. After 6 years in captivity, he escaped!! He went on to study priesthood, adopted a new name - Patrick, and became a bishop. Around 432 A.D. (about 30 years later) he returned to Ireland as a missionary, spreading Christianity and establishing churches.
Patrick preached for 40 years, blending pagan traditions with Christian beliefs, facilitating a smoother transition than in other regions. He died on March 17, 461.
He was never canonized as a Saint. He is simply largely recognized as a significant religious figure. ⛪
The three-leaf shamrock was used to teach the concept of the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. ☘️
Not only is the shamrock green, green generally represents the lush "Emerald Isle", and as such is the symbol of Ireland (there's more to that story; Patrick used to actually wear blue, but the point is Green became a national color and stuck to the holiday). 🇮🇪
Wearing orange on March 17th can be interpreted as being insensitive to Irish history, due to its historical ties to the British Crown; unlike Green, representing Irish nationalism.
Lastly, Fun Facts about me!! 🙂❇️
I enjoy nature and I believe that the greenery all around us is a constant reminder of God's love for us! 🌲💚
Though I now identify as non-denominational Christian, I grew up Catholic. ⛪🧎♂️
Emerald is my birthstone and my favorite color!! 💎💚
I personally refer to March 17th as Green Day, and needless to say, I love the outpouring of green that comes along with the festivities; including all the discounted green drinks! ✅🍵
No matter the symbolic meaning of your joy, I am wishing you fun celebrations whether with loved ones or through reflection and meditation. 🕺📗
As always, I hope to help you find ways to incorporate mindful self-care and a daily touch of luxurious relaxation. 🧘♂️💚
